The diverse settings on the Northshore of Kauai offer many things to do. Some of the most popular things to do are listed below.

Golfing: There are two courses in Princeville: The Makai and Prince Course. The Prince course is rated by some experts as the #1 course in Hawaii. The Makai course is considered one of Americas 100 greatest golf courses.

Helicopter tours: They allow you to see the island from a whole new view. It is breathtaking. Heli USA is in Princeville. You go over Hanalei Valley, Mt Waialeale and the Napali Coast.

Kalalau Trail: It starts at Ke’e. The full hike is 11 miles. It’s an all day hike but you don’t have to go all the way. Hanakapiai is a two mile hike to its beach. There are waterfalls and beaches along the way that can be stopped at to have lunch or take a break at.

Horse Back Ridding: There are two stables: Silver Falls and Princeville Ranch. Each stable offers different ride packages. Call in advance for reservations.

Kayak the Hanalei River: It allows you become part of the river that you cross when coming into Hanalei. It’s very peaceful. Kayaks can be rented or you can get a guided tour.

Napali Coast Tours: They are unforgettable and memorable. You see waterfalls, sea caves and white sand beaches. You’re likely to see dolphins, sea turtles and even humpback whales.

Snorkeling: The northshore of Kauai has some of the best snorkeling. The best beaches for snorkeling are Tunnels, Anini and Ke’e. You’re able to see tons of fish and swim with lots of sea turtles.

Surf lessons: The Hanalei Pier is probably the best place to learn how to surf. Experience the thrill of gliding down a breaking wave. Don't leave the island without having tried this truly Hawaiian sport at least once. Kauai north shore offers ideal surf conditions for beginners of all ages.There two places at the pier for lessons.

Kilauea Lighthouse & Wildlife Refuge: It’s located on the northernmost tip of Kauai. It’s also a bird sanctuary and rated as one of the most visited wildlife refuges in the US.

Limahuli Garden: It’s located in Haena. The garden was named the Nations Natural Botanical Garden of the Year. You learn about the native plants of Hawaii and ones brought by the Polynesians. Reservations are required.

Princeville Spa: Need a day to relax or work out, go to the Princeville spa. There are all different packages and rates you can get.

Guava Kai Plantation: It’s located in Kilauea. You’re able to learn all about guavas and view the orchards. They have a gift shop that sells guava goodies and souvenirs.
