La Cascata Restaurant One of the resort's finest jewels is La Cascata
Restaurant. It features flavors of the Mediterranean. La Cascata,
which means "the cascade," takes its name from the spectacular
mountain waterfalls seen from the restaurant. The entrance to the
restaurant features dramatic iron gates, with hand-painted murals
of Italian villages mixed with trompe l'oeil ivy suspended from
the ceiling. The inviting aromas announce an evening of fine food,
gracious service and warm hospitality.
La Cascata features an internationally selected wine list for the
most discriminating tastes. After dinner enjoy a selection of hand-rolled
cigars and aperitifs. The restaurant is open nightly from 6 p.m.

The Bali Hai Restaurant
Open to the gentle trade winds, on three sides, the Bali Hai looks
out on its namesake, Bali Hai and beautiful Hanalei Bay. The mountains
and Hanalei Bay are beautiful from the Bali Hai. It is located
in the beautifully landscaped Hanalei Bay Resort. Breakfast here
is a wonderful way to start your day. For lunch and dinner they
specialize in Pacific Rim cuisine made from fresh island ingredients,
many of the herbs are grown right here at the resort. Don't miss
sunset at the Bali Hai. It's an unforgettable experience in any

Hanalei Dolphin Restaurant offers a great
selection of seafood and steak. Hidden behind a gallery called
Ola's are this fish market and adjoining steak-and-seafood restaurant,
on the banks of the Hanalei River. Particularly inviting are the
fresh fish sandwiches, served under umbrellas at river's edge.
Most appealing (besides the river view) are the appetizers: artichokes
steamed or stuffed with garlic, butter, and cheese; buttery stuffed
mushrooms; and ceviche fresh from the fish market, with a jaunty
dash of green olives. From fresh catch to baked shrimp to Alaskan
king crab and chicken marinated in soy sauce, the Dolphin has stayed
with the tried-and-true The fish is always fresh. They don’t
take reservations so get there early or you might have to wait
in line. The Hanalei Dolphin is one of my favorite restaurants.
CJs Steakhouse, formally known as Chuck’s
Steakhouse is located in the Princeville Shopping Center. The food
is great and the service is pretty good. All dinners come with
an all you can eat salad and bread bar. This is my other favorite
restaurant.
Zelos Beach House is in Hanalei. They serve a variety of beef, fish
and chicken. Their ribs are pretty good and they have a good selection
of wine, beers and other drinks. Sit in one of the window seats and
watch the goings on of Hanalei.
Sushi Blues is in Hanalei. They serve a variety of sushi and other
seafood. Their crunchy roles are great! The only downside is their
food is on the expensive side. Nightly entertainment.
Tropical Taco is in Hanalei. The food is really good but a little
expensive. The fish tacos are great. Sit on the porch and watch the
Hanalei cars go by.
Polynesian Café is in Ching Young
Village in Hanalei. They serve a wide variety of food and desserts.
Consider the fish burger fries. They also have some terrific homemade
baked goods. Try anything with chocolate, especially the praline
caramel chocolate bars or the caramel chocolate cheesecake. You
can sit outside.
Paradise Bar and Grill is in the Princeville
Shopping Center. The portions are huge for the price. If possible
try sitting at the surfboard. It adds a little something extra
plus you’re in charge of the
TV remote.
Postcards in Hanalei exceptional fish and vegetarian
plates featuring local ingredients. They use no meat, poultry, refined
sugar or ingredients with chemical additives. Open for dinner only.
Kilauea Fish Market is located in Kilauea. They serve burgers, wraps,
burritos and some local foods. The food is pretty good and the price
isn’t bad. The Ahi wrap is great.
Bubbas Burgers is in Hanalei. They serve
burgers, fries, etc… it’s
a great place to stop for lunch and look around at the shops.
Lighthouse Bistro is in Kilauea. Even if you're not on your way
to the legendary Kilauea Lighthouse, this bistro is so good it's
worth a special trip. The charming green-and-white wooden building
next to Kong Lung Store has open sides, old-fashioned plantation
architecture, open-air seating, trellises, and high ceilings. The
food is excellent, an eclectic selection that highlights local ingredients
in everything from fresh fish tacos and fresh fish burgers to mac
nut-crusted ahi and four preparations of fresh catch -- much more
elegant than usual lunchtime fare. They have good burgers and serve
great lunches.
Kilauea Bakery/Pau Hana
Pizza is at the
Kong Lung Center in Kilauea. The pizza is great and the price isn’t bad. It’s
a great place to eat breakfast before heading to the lighthouse
or a fun filled day at the beach. The baked goods are wonderful.
Pizza Hanalei is in the Ching Young Shopping Center. The pizza is
really great but expensive. You can choose from a variety of toppings.
The pizza comes with dipping sauce and Parmesan cheese.
Hanalei Mixed Plate is pretty good. They
serve a lot of different dishes. The chicken and chips are pretty
good also the Kalua pig and cabbage. Something that a lot of other
places don’t do
that they do is let you sample the dishes you want to try.
Hanalei Gourmet is good. It’s a nice place if you’re
not expecting anything fancy. This is a good place for live local
entertainment. They have a deli next door that serves great sandwiches
and cheesy fries.
